Deep Silver Gets Chamillionaire For "Riptide" Rap

In preparation for Dead Island Riptide, the sequel to the popular 2010 zombie action-RPG game the folks at Deep Silver have enlisted the help of award-winning rapper Chamillionaire for a treat for all to feed into their ear cavities.

“No Room In Hell” is a collaboration between Chamillionaire and Sam B., the “Who Do You Voodoo” rapper you play as in the original Dead Island game. Directed by Don Tyler “No Room In Hell” takes the tropic worlds of Banoi and brings them to life, pre-brain-eater period, of course.

Dead Island Riptide is due for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on April 23, 2013.

Episode CLX: Think Of Your Sins, Mr. Bond!

The Bastards love it shaken, not stirred.

This week the B3 are excited about the news that happened on the day of Tuesday, November 6, leaving both King and Blueonic jumping for joy about the future of one of their favorite things. The demos for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and F1 Race Stars are looked at, and King describes why the new Karateka remake is nothing but bad news. Finally James Bond comes full circle in the review for Skyfall.

Make yourselves a martini, and relax with Episode 160: Think Of Your Sins, Mr. Bond!

Episode CLVIII: Official Cause Of Accident: Pussy!

A brand-new episode awaits, as if it was told in a dream…

This week the Bastards gripe about the Halloween happenings in Salem, but calm down when they chat about the recent Flobots/Astronautalis/H.W. & Emoh Betta show at T.T. the Bear’s. The movie Cloud Atlas is explained in the best way possible, with mixed ratings from all the group members. King Baby Duck and Blueonic get their Happy Wars on, KBD tries his hardest to showcase the strengths and faults of the Nike+ Kinect Training demo, and Teg gets jolly about A Game of Dwarves and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Don’t go into a candy coma just yet! It’s Episode 158: Official Cause Of Accident: Pussy!

One-On-One: Math The Band

After witnessing Math The Band at the Peelander-Z show a couple weeks ago, King Baby Duck made it his mission to sit down and interview them. Thankfully, the mission was a success!

In another episode of One-On-One KBD sits down with the Providence-based band, as they chat about their origins, Kevin’s preference for cartridge gaming, and getting physical before and during a tour. Plus hear how they approached their new album Get Real (and the nightmare of having to start from scratch after an unfortunate incident), the plans to do a video for each song on the album, and their picks for our Three Album Island segment!

It’s time to get real! It’s One-On-One: Math The Band!

One-On-One: Brer Rabbit of Flobots

Hands in the air, Presidents and Prime Ministers! We’ve got one of the main vocalists from the Flobots guesting on another edition of One-On-One!

King Baby Duck sits down with Flobots’ Brer Rabbit, as they chat about his and Johnny 5’s comic book origins (including one hell of an X-Men analogy!), the evolution of the band, and the current political structure of the United States. Plus hear his thoughts on what he feels makes a standout show, his most favorite moment on the new album The Circle In The Square, and a special twist on Three Album Island featuring drummer Kenny Ortiz.

It’s no quagmire, it’s One-On-One: Brer Rabbit of Flobots!

Special thanks to Another Reybee Production, Inc. for making this interview happen!

Episode CLVII: Seven Psychopaths And A Cemetery Equals Great Ending!

Like a crossbow arrow going through a guy’s neck, here zooms in the Bastards with another fun-filled episode!

This week the B3 crew show nothing but praise for the recent Middle East concert featuring Peelander-Z, Electric Eel Shock, Math the Band, and Sam Mulligan, as they convince you why you need to go out and support these acts. The new Martin McDonagh film Seven Psychopaths is reviewed, as KBD and Blueonic try to find a good way to truly explain this crazed dark comedy without spoiling it. Finally the guys look at the demos for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Forza Horizon, Retro City Rampage, and Naughty Bear: Panic In Paradise, with some conflicting views from both sides regarding two of the titles in the spotlight.

An eye for an eye leaves the world with one guy having one eye. It’s Episode 157: Seven Psychopaths And A Cemetery Equals Great Ending!

One-On-One: Electric Eel Shock

The King sits down with the band that truly put the “Bastard” in “Boston Bastard Brigade”: Electric Eel Shock!

In another edition of One-On-One, KBD chats with the Japanese metal trio about the what-if scenario regarding their original line up, how they feel about their success overseas, and why we’ve yet to see any sign of their tour documentary Sex, Drugs, and Email. Plus find out the current goings-on with their upcoming best-of/covers album, and hear which album Kazuto chooses in Three Album Island that makes Aki cringe.

Gimme suicide rock ‘n’ roll!!! It’s One-On-One: Electric Eel Shock!

Check out our official Facebook Page for Blueonic’s photos of Electric Eel Shock’s October 10th performance at the Middle East Upstairs, along with those of Peelander-Z, Math the Band, and Sam Mulligan!

It’s A Melodious World In “Sound Shapes”

I am a bit of a sucker for music-based gaming; not stuff like Rock Band or DJ Hero, but rather titles likes Space Invaders: Infinity Gene and Audiosurf that take music and create it into a different art form. Sound Shapes, released back in August, takes the side-scrolling platformer genre and gives it a melodious twist, all with the help of some big-named artists.

Sound Shapes has players take control of an orb-ish object as it works its way from Point A to Point B of the level. Throughout the way the orb must touch special points in each area that activate a specific part of the song. You also need to be careful in order to avoid lava, sharp pointy things, and beatboxing creatures that love to keep to the sound as much as they enjoy attacking you. On occasion you’ll be able to travel via submarine or UFO in order to get to those hard-to-reach beats.

When Worlds “Collide,” Hunter Valentine Comes Out Kicking

The recent popularity of indie rockers Hunter Valentine is well-waranted. After two solid albums (one of which, Lessons From The Late Night, was one of the first great female-fronted rock albums of the decade) the newly-dubbed quartet managed to garner plenty of fame for their famous (or infamous) antics on the reality show The Real L Word. Now that the season is over, it’s time for fans new and old to be reminded why a band such as this needs to exist on this planet. Collide and Conquer, their third album, does just that.

Collide and Conquer combines the two strongest elements of their previous albums: the heart of Impatient Romantic and the anarchistic mindset of Lessons From The Late Night. It starts off not with a skip & a hop, but rather a spring & a pounce with “Liar Liar,” a rousing middle finger to the betrayers. Lead vocalist/guitarist Kiyomi screams “I keep my mind straight over you,” and you can bet she has a sinister plan in store for the fibbers of the world. Newcomer Somer Bingham’s keyboarding during the music break adds a more espionage feel to the song, as if the plot in question will leave a trail a blood back to them.
